Overview
Release 2.1.4 is a cumulative release that includes all improvements delivered since version 2.1.1. It introduces new tools for editors and administrators, improvements to existing content management capabilities, and significant platform and security updates.
New Features
Smart Tables
Tables created in the WYSIWYG editor can now include built-in sorting and filtering. Visitors can click column headers to sort rows by text, number, or date, and data types are detected automatically. No extra configuration is needed when creating tables.

Image Optimisation
Images across your site can now be optimised in bulk to reduce file sizes without visible quality loss. All image formats (JPEG, PNG, GIF) are compressed, resulting in faster page loads and lower bandwidth usage. This feature is run by an administrator and does not require any action from content editors.

Image Gallery
You can now add an image gallery component to content pages to display a collection of images in an interactive, browsable format. Images can be selected from your existing media library, reordered, and captioned. The image gallery requires activation — contact the District support team if this feature is not yet available on your site.

Automated Accessibility Checking
District now includes an in-page accessibility checker. After saving or previewing content, a panel highlights potential accessibility issues such as missing image alt text, incorrect heading structure, or low-contrast elements. Issues are shown in plain language with guidance on how to address them.

Simplified Password Reset
Editors and administrators can now reset their password using either their username or email address, removing the need to remember which was used at account creation. A reset link is sent to the account's registered email address.

Real-Time SEO Guidance
As you create or edit content, District now shows live SEO feedback directly on the edit page. You'll see suggestions for improving your page title, meta description, headings, and keyword usage, helping you produce search-optimised content without leaving the editor.

Feature Enhancements
Unpublish Individual Sections and Blocks
You can now hide specific sections or blocks on a page without deleting them. Toggle the visibility of individual components while keeping your page layout intact, and bring them back when you are ready.

See also: Add, remove, and delete site components
You can now replace existing files in the media library while keeping the same filename and URL, so existing links continue to work. You can also delete files directly from the file system when they are no longer needed.

Bulk Content Operations
Administrators can now unpublish multiple pages at once directly from the content administration view, removing the need to edit each page individually. Select multiple pages and apply the action in a single step, regardless of each page's current moderation state.

We've updated the underlying platform to Drupal core 10.4.9 and applied the latest security patches across all contributed modules. This release also adds support for PHP 8.3 and Solr 9.x, improving performance and long-term platform compatibility. Additional updates include improvements to the District site footer, an updated robots.txt configuration, and search page indexing controls — the search page is now excluded from search engine indexing by default.
