Overview
--------

Articles and landing pages are assembled from components, each one a self-contained piece of the page, stacked in the order a visitor reads them. Building a page is mostly a matter of adding the right components and putting them in the right order.

Components belong to the page that holds them. There is no shared library, so adding one here adds it here only, and removing one never affects another page.

Nothing you do in the Components area is final until you press **Save** on the page. See [**Site components overview**](/articles/site-components-overview) for what each component is.

Adding a component
------------------

1. Open the article or landing page for editing and stay on the **Content** tab.
2. Below the list of components, press the arrow beside the **Add Accordion** button. The full list of components opens.
3. Choose the one you want, for example **Add Text**. Press **Add Accordion** itself only if you want an accordion.
4. The new component opens at the bottom of the list, ready to fill in.
5. Press **Save** on the page when you are done.

### Components that hold items

Some components are containers: a Card grid holds cards, an Accordion holds accordion items, Process steps hold steps. Inside each one there is its own **Add** button for those items, such as **Add Card**, and each item can be edited, duplicated, removed and reordered in the same way as a component.

Editing a component
-------------------

Saved components show as a one-line summary, so a long page stays easy to scan. Press **Edit** on a row to open it, or **Edit all** at the top of the list to open every component at once.

Removing or duplicating a component
-----------------------------------

Each row has an actions button (⋮) beside **Edit**. It opens two choices:

- **Remove** takes the component out straight away. There is no confirmation prompt.
- **Duplicate** adds an identical copy, ready to edit.

> **💡 Note:** There is no switch to hide one component while leaving the rest of the page visible. Removing it is the only way to take it off the page; unpublishing hides the whole page, not one component within it.

> **⚠️ Important:** Removing a component is not permanent until you press **Save**. Leave the form without saving and nothing changes. If you have already saved and want it back, restore an earlier version of the page rather than rebuilding the component.
