What is taxonomy?
-----------------

Taxonomy is the system used to categorise content on your website. It is built around two concepts:

TermDefinition**Vocabulary**A collection of terms that describe a specific type of content or concept — for example, "Fruit".**Terms**Specific labels within a vocabulary — for example, "Apple" and "Orange".---

Vocabularies
------------

### View the list of vocabularies

1. In the menu, click the **Structure** icon.
2. Select **Taxonomy** from the dropdown.

### Edit a vocabulary

1. In the menu, click the **Structure** icon.
2. Select **Taxonomy** from the dropdown.
3. Click **Edit vocabulary** next to the vocabulary you want to edit.
4. Update the **Name** and/or **Description**.
5. Click **Save**.

### Add a new vocabulary

1. In the menu, click the **Structure** icon.
2. Select **Taxonomy** from the dropdown.
3. Click the **+ Add vocabulary** button at the top of the page.
4. Enter a **Name** and **Description** for the new vocabulary.
5. Click **Save**.

### Delete a vocabulary

1. In the menu, click the **Structure** icon.
2. Select **Taxonomy** from the dropdown.
3. Click the dropdown menu next to the vocabulary you want to delete.
4. Select **Delete**.
5. You will be redirected to a confirmation page. Click **Delete** again to confirm.

Terms
-----

### View the list of terms within a vocabulary

1. In the menu, click the **Structure** icon.
2. Select **Taxonomy** from the dropdown.
3. Click **List terms** next to the vocabulary whose terms you want to view.

### Edit a term

1. In the menu, click the **Structure** icon.
2. Select **Taxonomy** from the dropdown.
3. Click **List terms** next to the vocabulary containing the term.
4. Click **Edit** next to the term you want to edit.
5. Update the **Name** and/or **Description**.
6. Click **Save**.

### Add a new term

1. In the menu, click the **Structure** icon.
2. Select **Taxonomy** from the dropdown.
3. Click **List terms** next to the vocabulary you want to add a term to.
4. Click the **+ Add term** button at the top of the page.
5. Enter a **Name** and **Description** for the new term.
6. Click **Save**.

### Delete a term

1. In the menu, click the **Structure** icon.
2. Select **Taxonomy** from the dropdown.
3. Click **List terms** next to the vocabulary containing the term.
4. Click the dropdown next to the term you want to delete and select **Delete**.
5. You will be redirected to a confirmation page. Click **Delete** again to confirm.
