Configure content workflows

--------

Workflows manage the process through which content is created, reviewed, and published on your site. The easiest way to configure a content workflow is by editing the default workflow District provides. You can also create entirely new workflows if your site requires it.

Edit the default workflow
-------------------------

1. In the menu, click the **Configuration** icon.
2. Click **Workflow** from the dropdown.
3. Select **Workflows**. This page shows an overview of all created workflows.
4. Click **Edit** next to the **Editorial** workflow.
5. From here you can configure the following:
    - **States:** Customise the stages your content goes through.
    - **Transitions:** Control how content moves from one state to another. For scheduled transitions, see **Scheduled content transitions**.
    - **Applies to:** Click **Select** to choose which content types this workflow governs.
    - **Default Moderation State:** Choose the initial state for new content.
6. Click **Save** to apply your changes. You'll be returned to the workflows overview.

Create a new workflow
---------------------

1. In the menu, click the **Configuration** icon.
2. Hover over **Workflow** from the dropdown.
3. Select **Workflows** from the dropdown.
4. Click the **+ Add** button at the top of the page.
5. Enter a **Label** and select a **Workflow Type**.
6. Click **Save**. Additional configuration options will now appear.
7. Configure the following:
    - **States:** The defaults are Draft and Published. Click **Add a new state** to add more.
    - **Transitions:** The defaults are Create New Draft and Publish. Click **Add a new transition** to add more.
    - **Applies to:** Click **Select** to choose which content types this workflow applies to.
    - **Default Moderation State:** Select the default state for new content.
8. Click **Save**. You'll be returned to the workflows overview where your new workflow will appear.
