AI features on this site AI features on this site ======================== Updated 5 days ago · 2 min read Search Search Overview -------- AI here is not one feature. Several capabilities ship with the platform and are switched on one at a time, so what your site has depends on what your organisation has asked for. Two things are true of all of them, and are worth knowing before anything is turned on. - Each one sends something out of your site to do its work, a visitor's question or an image. Turning one on is a decision about data leaving the site, not only about a feature. - Each one needs an account with the AI service behind it. The key for that account is entered by an administrator, so none of this is an editor's job. Two capabilities are covered below. Neither is switched on for this site today. --- The chatbot ----------- A chatbot is a small panel that opens from the corner of the site, connected to an AI-powered assistant. There is no chatbot on this site today. If you want one added, ask the Doghouse SaaS support team. --- AI-generated alt text --------------------- A service that generates alt text for images automatically, using an AI vision model, is available on this platform but not turned on here. Today, alt text is written by hand when an image is uploaded. It takes more than one switch: the feature needs an AI provider configured behind it, and that provider needs an API key from the service you are using. > **⚠️ Important:** The image and its details are sent to the AI service to generate the description. That is a decision worth making deliberately, and worth recording in your privacy policy. --- What else is available ---------------------- Beyond alt text, the platform also carries AI agents and an AI dashboard, and three services it can be pointed at: OpenAI, Anthropic and amazee.io. None of them is switched on, and each would need its own key. If you have a use in mind, that is a conversation with the Doghouse SaaS support team rather than a switch in the admin screens.
