Overview
--------

District allows you to schedule content to automatically transition from one status to another at a specific date and time. This is most commonly used to publish or unpublish content at a future date without needing to do it manually.

This article will cover how to manage scheduled content transitions.

Creating a scheduled transition
-------------------------------

1. In the administration menu, click the **Content** icon.
2. Click on the content item you want to schedule a transition for.
3. Click the **Scheduled transitions** tab on the content page. This shows an overview of all scheduled transitions for this item.
4. Click **+ Add Scheduled transition** at the top of the page.
5. A pop-up will appear — configure the following:

    - **Revision:** Select which revision to move to a new state.
    - **Transition state:** Select the target status from the dropdown (e.g. Published, Archived).
    - **Date and time:** Set when the transition should occur.
6. Click **Schedule transition** to confirm.

The content will now automatically change status at the specified date and time.

Managing existing scheduled transitions

You can view, edit, or cancel any pending transitions from the **Scheduled transitions** tab on the content item's page.
