   Overview
--------

A sitewide alert is a prominent message displayed across all pages of your website to communicate important information, urgent announcements, or critical updates to visitors. Common uses include service disruptions, maintenance schedules, and time-sensitive notices.

> 💡 **Note:** Depending on your user role, you may or may not have permission to create sitewide alerts. Check with your site administrator if you don't see this option.

Create a sitewide alert
-----------------------

1. In the menu, click the **Content** icon.
2. Select **Sitewide alerts**. This opens a page listing all existing alerts.
3. Click **+ Add new Sitewide Alert** at the top of the page.
4. Fill in the alert details:
    - **Name** — enter a name for the alert.
    - **Alert Style** — select a style from the dropdown.
    - **Alert Message** — enter the message that will appear on the alert, using the WYSIWYG editor. See **Using the WYSIWYG editor** for formatting guidance.
5. Configure the alert settings using the available tabs:
    - **Dismissible** — when selected, visitors can dismiss the alert and will not see it again.
    - **Scheduling** — configure the alert to display at a particular date and time.
    - **Page visibility** — determine which pages the alert displays on.
    - **Revision information** — enter a revision log message.
6. To activate the alert immediately upon saving, select the **Active** slider.
7. Click **Save**. If no scheduling date and time is set, the alert will automatically publish on the selected pages.
