Overview
--------

Menu items are the links that make up your site's navigation menus. They point to pages, content, or URLs and determine how users move through your site. You can create new menu items, reorder them, and manage their visibility from the Menus section in District.

Create a menu item
------------------

1. In the menu, click the **Structure** icon.
2. Select **Menus** from the dropdown. This opens a page listing all menus on the site.
3. Click **Edit menu** next to the menu you want to add a new item to.
4. Click the **+ Add link** button.
5. Fill in the menu item details:

    - **Menu link title** — the label displayed in the menu.
    - **Link** — the URL or internal path this item links to.
    - **Enabled** — toggle to make the item visible on the site.
    - **Description** (optional) — additional context for the link.
    - **Show as expanded** — toggle if the item has child items that should be visible.
    - **Parent link** — select if this item should appear as a submenu item under another link.
    - **Weight** — determines the item's position in the menu.
6. Click **Save**.
