   Overview
--------

Cloning content in District is a handy way to create a new piece of content based on something you've already made. Instead of starting from scratch, you can just clone an existing page or item and then make the changes you need. It's a real time-saver!

How to clone content
--------------------

### Cloning is a straightforward process. Here’s how you do it:

1. **Find your content.** Head over to the main content list to see all content on your site. For more on this, see **View and manage all site content**.
2. **Select Clone.** In the operations column for the piece of content you want to copy, click **Clone**.

    ![](/storage/UfrwCpyxDllHO4nBupq8oLP7EssO0GjorEtBiZw9.png)
3. **A new draft is created.** District will automatically create a new, unpublished draft of your content. The title will be prefixed with *"Clone of…"*
4. **Edit your new content.** Update the title, body copy, images, or any other fields as needed. For more on editing, see **Using the WYSIWYG editor**.
5. **Save and publish.** Once you're happy with your changes, save the content and follow your usual publishing workflow. For a refresher, see **Content workflow and statuses**.

And that's it! You've successfully cloned content in District.
